फेडोरा लिनक्समा आधारित कम्प्युटर सञ्चालन प्रणाली हो जसले स्वतन्त्र तथा खुल्ला श्रोत सफ्टवेयरको क्षेत्रमा नयाँ भन्दा नयाँ कुराहरूलाई समेट्छ। फेडोरा लिनक्स प्रयोग गर्न, यसमा परिमार्जन गर्न, तथा परिवर्तित वा अपरिवर्तित स्वरूपमा अरुलाई वितरण गर्न जोसुकैलाई स्वतन्त्रता छ। यो विश्वभरि छरिएर एउटा समुदाय – फेडोरा परियोजना – मा सँगै काम गर्ने व्यक्तिहरूले बनाएका हुन्। यसको स्वरुप खुल्ला भएकोले यस परियोजनासँग जो पनि आबद्ध हुन सक्दछ – फेडोरा र स्वतन्त्र तथा खुल्ला श्रोत सफ्टवेयरमा रुचि राख्ने सबैलाई यस परियोजनामा स्वागत गर्दछौं । तपाईको सामु अब फेडोरा छ – फेडोरासँगै स्वतन्त्र तथा खुल्ला श्रोत सफ्टवेयर तथा खुल्ला विषयवस्तु को विकासमा साथ दिन हामी सबैलाई आह्वान पनि गर्न चाहन्छौँ। फेडोरा योगदानकर्ताहरूको निर्देशन र रेड ह्याट को आर्थिक सहयोगमा चलिरहेका थुप्रै परियोजनाहरुको समूह हो। स्वतन्त्र तथा खुल्ला श्रोत सफ्टवेयरमा उच्च स्तरको गुणस्तर बनाउँदै यसबाट सबैलाई फाईदा हुने सफ्टवेयरहरु उत्पादन गर्ने उद्देश्यले लागेका धेरै व्यक्तिहरुको समुदाय यस परियोजनाको विकासमा अग्रसर छ। फेडोरा परियोजना को मूल केन्द्र लिनक्समा आधारित सञ्चालन प्रणाली (अपरेटिङ सिस्टम) हो र वर्षको दुईपटक यसको नयाँ सँस्करण विमोचन हने गर्दछ।
